when life gives you lemons - a fresh squeezed lemonade recipe

A Fresh-Squeezed Lemonade Recipe

For my boyfriend's birthday cookout this year, I wanted to share the wonder of lemons (meet our fruit friend, Lemon).  But for a birthday gathering, I decided to put some extra love into it.

Ingredients:
11 lemons
8 cups of water
1/3 cup of maple syrup

(For one glass of lemonade only, use 1-2 lemons, 3 Tbs of maple syrup, and the rest water)

Instructions:

1. Lovingly smack 10 of the lemons on the counter.  Roll them around.  You're doing this to juice them up.

2.  Squeeze the juice.  You'll get about a cup or so.

3. Add the remaining 7 cups of water to a pitcher.

4. Stir in the lemon juice and maple syrup (can substitute agave nectar).

6. Slice the last lemon and add the slices to the pitcher.

7.  Best if you let it sit for 24 hours in the fridge to get the lemon soaked in.

8. Serve with ice.  ENJOY!
